How do I connect a Nintendo 64 controller to a Intel iMac?

I just discovered sixtyforce and the wonderful world of playing old Nintendo games on my Mac. What would I need to plug a Nintendo controller into my computer? MarioCart 64 isn't the same with the keyboard.

Do they sell USB Nintendo controllers? Or do I need to buy a genuine N64 controller and buy a dongle? Would it be plug and play?
