Where to go in dominican republic?

usually people go to see the capitol of the country and tourist areas, I never been to DR but google LonelyPlanet it’s a great web site you can find about any country, heck just google Dominican Republic and see what comes up.

Several years ago we went to Punta Cana and stayed at one of the Bavaro resorts. The beaches were amazing and the hotel was great. i actually saw bill Clinton there on the beach.

@ Baseballnut: which bavaro resort did you stay at? We are staying at the palace and are wondering how the food is, the accomodations etc. I’d love your opinion!
