Did you know about the national gay rights protest on November 15th?

Asked by monsoon (2528points) November 11th, 2008

jointheimpact.com is putting together a national, volunteer driven campaign to organize protests all over the US this Saturday in response to the numerous anti-gay rights measures passed on the fourth. Their aim is to have protests in every state of the US. I was wondering if any one on fluther is going to be taking part. I’ll be in San Fran. :)

I hadn’t heard about it, but I’ll look for something in my area.

I’ll definitely check it out. Thanx!

I hadn’t heard, thanks for the link! Doesn’t look like much is happening in my state (West Virginia…big surprise, huh?) but I’ll be posting signs in my front window, facing a very busy street.

I have heard.
There is also an on line petition to sign in regards to recent California prop 8.

Yeah, what they really need is just for like a myspace or facebook page to be made for your city if there’s nothing, so that people can start to organize, if you’re not interested in organizing yourself. They’ve had tens of thousands of hits, so anything you can do to spread the word is great. :)

spreading the word about what? This is a waste of time and the voters have spoken. Maybe yall can waste your time with global warming now…

@smullane
That’s one of the more ridiculous things that I’ve heard as of late. This is something people care about. A lot. It’s not as if things always remain the way that they are. The status quo is never immutable.

Maybe you shouldn’t waste your time answering questions that you think were a waste of time to ask. But your right, the voters have spoken, why even have a supreme court? Not like there’s a purpose for those guys anyway.
