Upper Air Intake the round plastic gizmo ontop of motor. checked for leaking hose’s no problems….still Whines:(

Describe the whine. There aren’t any moving parts inside the air intake. It might just be the movement of the air.

The CAM is actually inside the motor. Mercedes V6 and I4 (which is used in the seabring) uses DOHC (Dual OverHead Camshafts) and they sit inside the “head” of each cylinder banks and are used to actuate the valves. 2 per bank. They are driven by chains and shouldn’t make whining noises but they might make “clicking” type sounds, especially if the engine is cold.

Whining from the engine bay is almost always belt related, and typically not a problem especially on newer cars, if its cold out the nylon and rubber based belts will contract and they might rub slightly or shift to a slightly different position on the pulleys that they move over.

Next time you hear this noise pop the hood and ask someone to try and locate it’s origin. If they cant then turn up the music. All cars rattle these days, especially in drier climate zones. Move to New Orleans if it’s really bothering you. Mildew is a great vibration reducer.

its not vibration omfg….i regret asking this question ill just take it apart n figure it out my self.

Take my advise and get a Yaris sedan. You’ll love the milage and you’ll be part of a growng community that has already turned it into a cult classic all over Europe. These somewhat odd little cars are actually roomier than many fullsized cars. It’s a bit of magic really. The central dash design though somewhat bizzare will start growing on you every time you pass another admiring Yaris devot’e. Makes everyone smile at you and that is a great way to start the day. Good for the planet too!

Sounds like it could be the bearings in the alternater or some other belt driven component. Don’t dispair, Chryslers make fine lawn orniments especially when they’re full of fluffy little Teddy bears!

Yaris is for chicks. haha my gf drives one of those. toyota is not my personal coice

If you think that then you need to check out Yarisworld.com. If we are going to reduce our dependancy on foreign oil then we need to revise our ignorant macho stereotypes about cars. We are in deep doo-doo and we’ll all have to make sacrifices if we are to get through this difficult time of transition. Either you’re part of the problem or part of the solution. If the big 3 crushed all it’s gas guzzlers and started importing the efficient cars they’ve been marketing to the rest of the world then we would be much closer to being self dependant and our soldiers wouldn’t have to die taking over contries so that the likes of Exxon Mobil can control the flow of all that oil and earn even greater record profits while more and more citizens are fighting just to get a good spot at Wallmart to wave their cardboard signs. Really!
