Incidentally, I notice that some pictures fill the whole background, some fill about 2/3, and some get split into four versions. Can anyone explain why my PC leaves some as whole, and why it compresses or splits others?

@trustingoflife: if you are running Windows, right click on your desktop and click on “properties.” Click on the “desktop” tab and it will give you choices about how you want the background displayed – stretch, tile, or center. Play with those options and you’ll see why it is sometimes whole, compressed, or broken into four. :)

To answer the original question, by background is currently a picture of New York at night.

@Laureth, I really appreciate your answering my question-within-a-question! I changed my settings from Tile to Stretch, and am happier with what I have now. (Lurve to you!) By the way, your NYC picture is pretty intense!
