How do you spell blurgh (or blergh)?

Asked by simonPARASITE (195points) December 1st, 2008

If you’ve seen 30 Rock you’ll know a common word used by Liz Lemon is the word blurgh (usually instead of swearing). But I’m not sure how to spell it. Is it blurgh or blergh?

I think they all work. But personally, I can only picture a pirate saying “Blargh!”.

Everything I’ve seen online indicates that NBC spells it “blurg.”

I agree with astro. It’s German. I think it’s an inside joke from way back when she did Weekend Update with Jimmy Fallon. I remember this one sketch where they made fun of some Germans and they just thought it was hilarious so she kept saying these different words that sounded German but they were using them as different sexual words and curse words. Blurg and a few others I’ve heard on 30 rock but I can’t remember the other ones…

I always say Blargh. :)

But it’s definitely Blurg. I lvoe it when she says NERDS! It’s usually about the time I say Fuck.

It is technically “blërg”. They show a quick shot of some unassembled office furniture in Liz’s apartment with the company name “blërg” on the boxes in Ep. 2, Season 2 of 30Rock. (I know re-watching episodes on Netflix would come in handy some day :).

ps. if you want to type that e with the two dots over it, hold down the alt key and type “0235”.
