URGENT! Anyone out there ever repair an iPhone 3G broken screen?

Asked by jtvoar16 (2171points) December 3rd, 2008

I just tore mine apart. I tore out the broken screen. I need to know if super-glue© is safe to use to reseal the screen to the iPhone. The built in glue strips tore off with the broken glass chunks. There was nothing I could have done to safe it, aside from being god.

Will it even work with a broken screen?

No, this time, when I smashed it, it did not. Thus, the reason I took it apart and am not looking at 400$ of parts. Not an assembled iPhone.

my iPhone dropped and the screen didn’t work…it didn’t shatter, but the phone was useless…I took it to the apple store and they gave me a new one for free. They only were concerned about water damage.

Just buy a glass w/ digitizer on ebay for around $75 and the use super glue to put it back in the black trey like the old one. Easy fix, and alot more simple than the first gen.

My screen shattered, they wanted to charge me 200$ I bought a replacement piece of glass off , got it all apart, then realized that the broken glass pulled the glue off and wasn’t sure if superglue would work. It did not, I had to use 5 min epoxy.

yea I guess I should specify “super glue”, as in not cheap elmers or whatever. But like use the super epoxy stuff your not ever going to get off again
