what view someones account that is set to a private and your not friends with?

You can send a message to the person who’s profile you want to see and if they respond, you can see they’re limited profile. Other than that, if you’re not friends with them, I think you need to be something of a hacker to get in.

Unless you’re a skilled hacker, you need to add the person as a friend to see his or her entire profile.

Ya if your not friends with them and they are set on private. The only way your seeing there full profile is being a hacker.

So much for my favorite pastime of checking up on old girlfriends ;-)

@KatawaGrey: I thought facebook got rid of limited profiles.

i think they might have. i tried going on someone facebook that im not friends with that i know is on private. i can see there friends, but thats about it

If you’re not already on their network some profiles are open to others on the same network even if you’re not friends. Long shot though…

For some reason, the second part of my answer never posted.

I look at private profiles of people I am not facebook friends with all the time, and I’m not a “skilled hacker,” so y’all are wrong.

1. Click on the person, and your mutual friends with them will appear.
2. Message one of your friends and ask for his/her facebook password.
3. Log into your friend’s account.
4, View the person’s private profile.

@girlofscience You have really great friends! I’d rather give up my liver than my facebook password. Have some rather colourful direct messages in there…

@artificialard: Weird! I have a bunch of friends’ facebook passwords, and they have mine. It’s convenient for viewing profiles of non-friends for whatever reason! I haven’t looked through their messages, but I honestly wouldn’t care if they looked through mine.

facebook allows you to stalk well enough with out looking at the profiles of people who don’t want you to see theirs…

So if you have your settings to private, You are saying someone can ‘override’ that and still see your info even if you don’t want anyone too?
