Pedipaws nail trimmer... does it really work? Opinions from former/present users?

Asked by dlm812 (1679points) December 5th, 2008

I have seen many people purchase this “as seen on t.v.” item at the store my mother manages, but none have used it before. Any thoughts on it?

We bought one last month. It works well, if your dog will tolerate it. Winston had no problem with it. He will generally lay there and let you do anything to him. He did not like to have his nails trimmed with the nail clipper. This was great for him, and it really rounded off his nails. They were not sharp and scratchy at all.

I own a pet sitting business and I have sixe pets myself. I have been wondering about the Pedipaws myself. None of my clients has gotten it so far. I am always leary of informercials.

My brother uses it and he loves it. The dog didn’t like it the first time but got use to it.

looked into this and it is basically a dremmel tool with a cover over it. Lots of vets use standard dremmels with the the sanding barrel fitment, I have started using my husbands dremmel on our two labs and it works great. if you already have a dremmel you will be basically doubling up with a pedipaws. my dogs are softees – bit scared of the dremmel noise but just sat looking hang-dawgish whilst i did two paws each per sitting.
