Meeting place?

Asked by chicadelplaya (2218points) December 6th, 2008

I’m hoping to get some ideas, aside from a coffee shop, of where I could meet a friend or date to chat that isn’t surrounded with alcohol. Thanks!!

Try a bookstore or Church. Depending on where you are, how about a park if it’s not too cold.

If it is cold how about an ice skating rink.

I used to take dates to somewhere like a Denny’s, especially during a non-peak time where we could sit for a while and get to talkin’. (During peak times, it’s poor form to take away waitrons’ wages by monopolizing a table.)

If the weather is appropriate, a park or other nature area might be a good place to walk and chat. Of course, if you don’t trust this new person yet, it might be unwise to walk too far away from a public area.

A jazz lounge or relaxing room where you can just chill. I’m thinking of something like a card room. Or if you’re a member of a country club, invite him there.

If you are looking to have a nice, deep conversation with them, then try a library, cafe, park, or somewhere else relatively quiet. But if you are just looking to hang out and have a good time, go somewhere fun like an ice skating rink, a pool, or an amusement park.
