Apple In-Ear Headphones. Will it work for the old iPod Classic?

Asked by wilhel1812 (2877points) December 9th, 2008

I have the 80gb iPod Classic (6G)
Apple online store says it will only work with the 120gb one, so i guess i won’t be able to use the microphone and the remote, but will it play my music?

yes it will play your music. they will work on any standard headphone port ( i think its 3.5 mm) but you wont be able to control the music playback as far as i know

Have you already purchased them? I recently bought these and LOVE them. I would say ignore the whole stylish/fashion angle I think they’re going for. Honestly the Vibe Duo (1st Gen.) looked better, but these Vibe II’s are insane and work great with the iPhone. Sadly the remote doesn’t work with the 80gb [I have the same set-up]

@peedub: I must have the apple ones, I’m an Apple fanatic :p. I know the Vemoda ones is great aswell, but it’s great hearing opinions as i sell them at work :)

@waterskier2007: It’s 3.5 mm, but this is a special new 4 pin minijack

And there, by doing research for this answer, i just answered my own question. “On the other hand, the mic should still work and the headphones will work with any iPod or other standard headphone jack device.”
Yay! Lurve for me :)

That’s cool. I, as well, am an apple fanatic. I was considering those. Let me know how they work out for you.
