Why isnt my camera turning off?

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W100. The problem started a few days ago when i camera would turn on all of asudden automaticially. Now when i turn off my camera, it burns back on for no reasona t all. The only way to turn it off is to remove the battery. Any idea why this is happening?

this happened to my sony cybershot just before it died. i think something (perhaps a grain of sand? a broken chip of an internal part?) got lodged in the lens mechanism…. it wouldn’t close (or it would partly close, then re-open), wouldn’t open, was acting weird. it didn’t turn on by itself though.
