Can anyone tell me who the bassist for Led Zeppelin was and what happened to him?

I know his name but i can’t seem to remember it, and also is he dead and if he’s not what is he doing now?

John Paul Jones.

Great bassist, keyboardist, and producer.

Pretty much ended his association with Page and Plant in the late 80s (early 90s) when they did Mtv Unplugged (and subsequent tour) – and didn’t invite him to join in.
