Is Ocean State Job Lot a morally reputable company?

Asked by KatawaGrey (21483points) December 17th, 2008

I avoid Wal-Mart when I can because the company doesn’t treat it’s employees very well and because it squeezes out independent businesses. Does Ocean State Job Lot treat its employees well? Does it have good hiring practices? It’s very convenient and I can get a number of things there for cheap, but I wouldn’t want to shop there if it is good company.

What in the Hell are you talking about? You wouldn’t want to shop there if it is good?! I think the hiring and policies of Wal-Mart are a matter of opinion. If it is so miserable, there are a lot of emplyees that seem to be satisfied and as I recall, it is the largest retailer in the world.

I’m sure she meant “if it is a bad company”. In any case, I’ve never even heard of this company, so I have no idea what type of employer they are.

Thank you Augustlan. That is what I meant. If it has morally reprehensible business practices, I wouldn’t want to shop there. I think it might be a new england or CT thing. that might be why you haven’t heard of it.
