Doesn't anyone running for office have any ideas?

I was just browsing the myspace page of one of the candidates for state senate in my district, and he didn’t present a single idea on his whole page. He had lots of complaints about the state of affairs in America, but he didn’t offer a single idea about how to fix things, only generalized statements such as “I’ll watch out for the hard working American,” and “The rich keep getting richer while the poor keep getting poorer,” and other such vague nonsense.

I notice the same sort of thing in the Presidential race. Lots and lots of people seem to have great ideas about what’s wrong, but no one is offering innovative ideas—real details—about what they plan to do to fix it.

It really seems that it’s all about getting elected. I’m reminded of student council elections in high school.
