I think Jeruba’s growing pretty fast. She’s been here for around a month and already has almost 2000 lurve. :) Go Jeruba!

charliecompany34's avatar

i think that is a good angle on my earlier question. you go dave! er uh pupn taco!

SuperMouse's avatar

Augustlan’s grew pretty fast too.

asmonet's avatar

I only started really in late August 2008, even though my join date is in April. I think I signed up and closed the website promptly forgetting about it for another four months. I usually get about 1250 a month. Ish.

—or is that divided by? i bad with math—

asmonet's avatar

And English. :-p

PupnTaco's avatar

—I know, I was thinking of that “i bad with computer” meme.—

Mtl_zack's avatar

I know I’m the slowest. I’ve been here since March 1st 2007 and I just hit 3000 :(

augustlan's avatar

Here’s some lurve for you, zack!

Mtl_zack's avatar

That’s weird :S It added it to my lurve feed, but not to my score. Has this been happening the entire time? I DEMAND A RECOUNT!!

Lets see….

Joined July 25th, 2008. (147 Days)
As of 9:23 Pacific Time I’m at 1213.

Divide by time here…Add gailcalled…multiply by ben…. take the square root of andrew… factor JackAdams… and you get…

8.2517006802721088435374149659864 L/PD (Lurve Per Day)

PupnTaco's avatar

factor jackadams LOL

binary's avatar

:(

177 lurve / 20 days = 8.85 lurve/day

I propose that a new unit of measurement is christened to account for lurve per day…

aanuszek1's avatar

@binary
Woo! Founder of something significant for a change!

Also, up to 1233 (10:03 EST what was I thinking earlier?), making my lurve index 8.387755102040816326530612244898 L/PD

jessturtle23's avatar

I’ve been on two months and am only about to get 2000. So about 33 lurve a day.

omfgTALIjustIMDu's avatar

@zack, I beat you for slow. Today is my 2-year anniversary and I haven’t hit 2,000 yet. then again we didn’t have lurve way back when I joined

And I think dynamicduo is growing pretty quickly.

iwamoto's avatar

i was a fast grower, now i’m right where i need to be i guess

gailcalled's avatar

Are we still supposed to believe that aanuszek1 is only a HS freshman?

gailcalled's avatar

(Aan: I may have to rethink my compliment now that I have read your “crap” question.)

aanuszek1's avatar

@gail
yeah I know. Once again, random thought. Something only a high school student would think about, perhaps?

gailcalled's avatar

@Aan:Did you read about Judochop’s recent horrible and painful misadventure with his GI tract? Apparently, thanks to Dr. Shi, Judo got to the hospital fast and had his appendix removed, practically in the waiting room.

El_Cadejo's avatar

ya know, this would be quite helpful for this question :)

Of everyone mentioned thus far dynamicduo has the highest score/day with 88.6
Augustlan – 55.2
Jeruba – 44.9
Jessturtle23 – 31.7

omfgTALIjustIMDu's avatar

Woot, totally called dynamicduo.

Mtl_zack's avatar

Happy anniversary omfgtaliijustimdu!!!!

aanuszek1's avatar

@gail: yes, and what an amazing story!

PupnTaco's avatar

Dynamicduo’s on fire!

I joined 1/4/08 (so that’s 8501 lurve divided by 349 days = 24.36 LPD).

augustlan's avatar

@Dave: But as people max out their lurve for you, your LPD # would go down, right? The longer you’ve been here, the lower it would be? Note: Math is NOT my strong suit!

El_Cadejo's avatar

@augustlan yeaaaa your first 2k or so are easy, then people start maxing out and your LPD drops, though yours is still really high compared to your lurve, then again you havent been here long.

mine is only 22.25

augustlan's avatar

@Uber: I’m sure a lot of us have maxed out on you!

PupnTaco's avatar

True, it does taper as people hit the unknown max-lurve level – but only if you’re not equally lurved by the newcomers.

augustlan's avatar

So new people don’t love me? Gonna’ cry now : (

El_Cadejo's avatar

@augustlan nooo they do love you, thats why you have a higher score than me, they dont lurve me and you guys maxed out :P

augustlan's avatar

Well, we love you, even if we CAN’T lurve you!

Nimis's avatar

It’s tricky trying to account for the gradual lurve plateauing.
I entered a whole bunch of popular regulars and tried to
pick out the irregular peaks in my imagined curve.

I think it’s between:
– JohnPowell
– Augustlan
– DynamicDuo

I would find this kind of interesting:
[total lurve] / [ (questions answered x5) + (questions asked x3) ]

augustlan's avatar

My head hurts. Did I mention that math and I don’t get along?

Nimis's avatar

[total lurve received] / [roughly total lurve possible]
Is that less headachey? :D

augustlan's avatar

Yes…thanks for making it simple for me : )

TitsMcGhee's avatar

I joined about a month ago, and figured that i’ve got 37.32 LPD.

Is there some time period after which the amount of lurve you’ve given someone resets after being maxed out? I feel like there should be…

Cardinal's avatar

Some of you guys/gals need to get a different hobby. This is an entertainment site not a pissing contest!

asmonet's avatar

@Cardinal: We’re doing it just for fun. Chillax. :D

aanuszek1's avatar

@cardinal
Is someone jealous with a lurve index of only 3.25 L/PD? Just kidding :)

KatawaGrey's avatar

@aan: Amen and lurve to that.

@as: You too

TitsMcGhee's avatar

@Cardinal: yeah, I just do it for fun and when I’m bored… maybe people just like me more :)

Nimis's avatar

There have been an unusual amount of popularity questions lately. This one piqued my interest in particular because I saw it more as a question about how to measure the ‘growth’ of a user.

My guesstimates came from a roughly visualized curve plotted off of [total lurve] (along the x-axis) and [length of membership] (along the y-axis). Then pulling out the peaks of users who had a quicker growth/slope than the norm. Fun!

TitsMcGhee's avatar

The Paul Coyle Workshop thing was AMAZING. That was way fun.

And I think people get really into fluther at first and fall off after a little sometimes… but I keep seeing new people accumulating lurve (although it does seem like some people ask a question and leave).

saranwrapper's avatar

Did I win yet?

I’m so ashamed.
