i’m getting ready to go sit at my bf’s best friend’s house while they get drunk and i do nothing.

I am relaxing and playing on my laptop with my six year-old snoozing away next to me. The house is quiet, and I am under tons of covers because it is going to get way below zero tonight!

Just had to evacuate my building to a very cold snowy night…someone just burnt toast. Set the whole building’s alarm’s off!

@chicadelplaya. We work 12 hour shifts here and my shift runs from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and we don’t get holidays off. I’ll be here on Christmas Eve and Christmas day too. I’m in the military.

Just watched “No Country for Old Men” with my daughter (14), adding an HD rip of “Pineapple Express” to my iTunes library, and going up to get under the down comforter. It was in the 20s when I woke up this morning.

I just got done downloading some music.

Now I’m eating a couple cookies with a wine cooler. (only half of it though, I don’t want to be tipsy!)
After this, I’m probably going to go watch Forensic Files or something and fall asleep.

I am trying to figure out whether the Present Perfect Simple tense exists in English. I am sure it doesn’t, but I have been surprised before.

You should check out the thread. :) It does exist, it’s a sort of grammar tense.
juniper explained it nicely in there.

@Chica: The usual. I am packing it in now and worrying about the next 12” of snow due tomorrow on top of the 14” that fell today. I am also preparing for my plowing bill this last day of autumn.

@Seeking; I was one of the responders to that thread. That specific tense does not exist in English, as it happens.

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to say that the “prefect present simple” existed, I was talking about the Perfect Present, which juniper clarified later. The poster just got confused. :) But the perfect present does exist, as I am sure you know. Sorry for that confusion there!
