Can the collective stand another dream question?

Asked by SuperMouse (30845points) December 22nd, 2008

…because I have a doozy I would love some feedback on. I dreamed that Jesus came to my house for a visit. He sat down on the back patio chatting with my sisters. But the thing is, I realized it wasn’t the real Jesus, it was just a priest dressed up as Jesus. My sisters took me into the kitchen and gave me a real upbraiding for not being nice enough to Jesus. I explained to them that this wasn’t really Jesus but they didn’t believe me. Any thoughts?

Sweetie, if I see Jesus, just let me be. Please.

The obvious interpretation is that someone or something appears to be someone or something else and you’re the only one who sees what’s really going on. On a deeper level, it might mean some religious issue. Any farther than that, I cannot guide you very well.

Jesus is a good part of you, except you think this good part is something of a fraud. Your sisters represent people who are very close to you, who perhaps are being supportive, but you don’t believe they should be, not really.

I think this means you are being particularly hard on yourself at the moment, and you should let up. I’m sure you know what happens when you get hard on yourself. You don’t want to go there.

Ok, so really, I don’t know. It’s just that when I start getting into these things, I make it sound as if I know. That’s bullshit. If it fits, great. It it’s nonsense, too bad. It’s not like I haven’t been wrong before (although I hate it).

Hey hey. You know what to do. Have a talk with this “Jesus”. Ask “Jesus” what’s going on. Let “Jesus” answer your questions. That’s the Jesus in your psyche, so the answers are in there. Just really listen. Ask and you shall be heard. And answered.
Ask the “sisters” too.
Ask the dream-Supermouse. Ask the furniture. Everything in there came from you.

I love what Susan said. And I’d recommend doing it on paper. This has proven so fruitful for me, I now pretty much journal after every dream. Most of them, anyway. I dialogue with the characters in the dream, and ask them questions. I also ask “Dream Adam,” the part of me that Knows the answers to my questions. He’s usually spot on.

And this member of the collective loves these questions! Keep ‘em coming.

If you want more interpretation from us, I’d love to hear a little more about your relationships with Jesus, Catholicism, and your sisters.

I agree with Katawa. Do you have a loved one that believes some religious doctrine that you think is bullsh**? In your dream, you can see that it’s not right, but your sisters are thoroughly taken in. This is how most of us feel when a friend or loved one gets taken in by a cult. We wonder why they can’t see the farce.
