Has anybody else noticed this glitch on Call of Duty 4 and 5?

Asked by MrMontpetit (1843points) December 23rd, 2008

I’ve been noticing it for a while, when you are shooting fast enough with a singleshot gun, it will sometimes randomly fire off 2 or 3 bullets in 1 shot. What I’ve been wondering is if this glitch is clientside or serverside?

Never noticed it, tbh. Then again, I’m running around so wildly spraying bullets at anything and everything, that I probably wouldn’t notice! Is this with rifles or something where you can more easily count the bullets? ;)

Yeah. Only CoD4 I noticed it on guns like the M40, Barret 50 Cal, and the M21. On CoD5 I noticed it with the double barrell shotgun and the Garand.

Ah.. on 4 I was mainly using the heavy machine guns and now on 5, I’m mainly an mp40 & stg44 kinda guy, so that probably explains why I’ve not noticed!

What’s your xbl gamertag? Mine’s idleFingers.

Mine’s just my name: Mac Montpetit

I’m playing CoD5 as I type this now, so feel free to add me and join if ya want!

Yeah on CoD4 i mainly used Snipers and SMGs, now I’m using a lot of Machine Guns and Bolt Actions.

On any semi auto gun the gun will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. If the bullets are traveling in the same path, I’d assume a glitch. But if the bullet goes higher than the previous one, I’d imagine you are just shooting in the middle of a recoil and it is normal.

What always gets me on those games, is why the M16 never jams. Or sometimes after a reload, the character will pull the charging hammer again (which should eject a round, but it never does).

anyways, it doesn’t quite sound like a big glitch to me, test it on a wall that shows damage to see if the bullets hit different places. If they hit in two different places, it sounds like it’s working alright.

Yeah I noticed it, but I wasn’t sure if I was actually firing bullets, or if the glitch was just the sound.

Yes I have noticed this. If you have ever heard of a modded controller (banned/patched as of last week) they used to have the same problem. Also before the rapid fire update the same happened to me. Usually with the M9 pistol or the Desert Eagle.
