Microsoft Photo Editor??

Asked by michaelparisi (1points) September 11th, 2007

I love the program “Microsoft Photo Editor” (comes with older versions of Microsoft Office) for quick crops and easy photo manipulation, but I recently had to restore my ENTIRE computer. I tried to locate and install Microsoft Photo Editor on the internet, but the program now gives me an error message that it cannot find file type data in my registry. Is Microsoft Office REQUIRED in order for Microsoft Photo Editor to work? Is there a shared file that I’m missing??

Thank you!

Mircosoft Office is required to legally run Microsoft Photo Editor. I believe it comes out with Office 2000 and Office 2003

For simple photo editing like you mention, I highly recommend the Microsoft-mentored free project Paint .net
