Aperture Question?

Asked by joeysefika (3098points) December 24th, 2008

Ok, so i installed aperture for mac on my MacBook and selected the path of the library as the one on my iMac so it would be the same as the library on my iMac. However when i went to relaunch Aperture it said that this path is not valid and i needed it to be on the local disk. However when i click ‘ok’ it closes Aperture and i have no way of changing the path. I tried deleting and reintalling the app but this keeps the old data, i.e. the old path… How do i either change the path or completely wipe the user data so it is like new.

Delete your preference file (.plist) within your Preferences folder (in your Library folder).

That should do the trick.

Didn’t work, on reinstall it still kept the old path. I did delete the .plist from my library. I don’t know what else there is.

You can use multiple libraries with Aperture. I have one for business images, one for personal, etc. Just double-click the library that you want Aperture to open with. Create an alias of the library on your iMac and place it on your MacBook.

You can also hold down the Option key as Aperture launches for the option of choosing an existing library or creating a new one.
