What band or anything music do you suggest?

Asked by alive (2953points) December 25th, 2008

Just suggest any band or musician or singer or rapper or even just a song, anything musical at all that you think I should listen to. I’m not going to list my preferences because I want to branch out and am willing to try anything. But you can leave a few details about the the person/band or genre…

The Ambassador – Christology
He is basically the best hiphop/rap artist out there with the best rhymes and message , and the beats are classic.

Tool and Deftones are two of my favorite bands and I’d recommend them to anyone. They’re both kind of ambient Rock with awesome lyrics.

I’d also recommend Sigur Ros, if you haven’t already heard of them. Beautiful music.

Ministry, Janes Addiction, Harry Connick Jr., Ted Nugent, Ludacris

Underoath, Poison the Well (You Come Before You), The Almost, the new Emery EP, Deftones. The first two are a little heavy but they do slow down some and the mix is amazing. Load all of these to your mp3 and go get angry at the gym.

Just listen to David Bowie’s discography, it’s a whole fucking tree.
The 1970–80 stuff is the best. My favourite is Low.

90s_kid's avatar

Wow, Fluther is the only place where I can hear people talk about music I don’t know. But it is a good thing because some ongs are from the 90’s and I must know everything about the 90s!!!!!!!!

mrdh's avatar

For the 90’s I like Super Furry Animals. Check out Fuzzy Logic. Their most recent, Hey Venus!, is pretty good too.

For an 80’s vibe from a newish band, take a look at Cut Copy. Unadulterated electropop goodness.
