Great breakfast/coffee place in downtown/Civic Center SF?

I am meeting a friend for a quick breakfast or coffee tomorrow. I need to be close to the Civic Center area so no farther east than Powell/5th. I don’t want to go to a chain. No starbucks! Hayes Valley might also work.
