Can I stop iPod Touch from opening iPhoto?

Asked by queenzboulevard (2551points) December 30th, 2008

I have two saved photos on my iPod Touch that I use for the wallpaper. Every time I connect to my computer, iPhoto opens and it prompts me to import the saved photos. I don’t want to import, I want to keep the pics on my iPod for the wallpaper.

Any way to disable this other than telling iPhoto not to open when a camera is connected?

As far as I know, you can’t disable this action per device. For me, I just disabled the “open when a camera is connected” option and load it manually whenever I connect a camera. I actually use Aperture, but it works in the same way.

In iTunes, uncheck “sync photos”.

In the Preferences for iPhoto and Image Capture you can choose ‘Connecting camera opens ‘No Application’. The only issue is that then it wont open automatically for a real digital camera.

The best thing to do would be to put those images you have into an album and avoid saving images to the camera folder on the iPod Touch.
