New years day. I'm at work, there's no one here but me, and I've done nothing but Fluther all day long! Hooray or boo for me?

Asked by Knotmyday (7516points) January 1st, 2009

I guess you could say I’ve been “monitoring the phones.”

I say hooray. If you have to work on New Years Day you might as well do something fun!

Sorry you’re stuck at work. You must be bored out of your mind!! I hope the day goes by quickly so you can go home and have a better day. I guess you are living up to your user id today, huh?

Fluther on!!

While it kind of stinks that you are stuck at work, it is pretty cool that you are being paid to Fluther all day. If I could be paid to Fluther that would be my dream come true!

Hooray! Vindication. I actually felt a little guilty after posting this, and did some paperwork. but not much.

Hooray! (and put the “paperwork” away. LOL!) What better way to pass the time “monitoring the phones” than fluthering! (and getting paid – BONUS!) I had to work from 7 to 1 – and only fluthered on a break – so lucky you!

Happy New Year!

Side note: Is New Year’s Day a big holiday? Yesterday and today I’ve been trying to do errands and NO ONE IS OPEN!

lunabean's avatar

sounds like a nice job to me, so hooray for you!

@andrew – I don’t see why it’s a big holiday. I hope to get some errands done today, too, but I’m worried the stores will be closed.

I say HOORAY for being alone at work and getting paid for Fluthering.

Keep Fluthering! I get paid to Fluther every day. It really helps when you get bored. One day I was really inot a thread I was posting in, and when I got a call, I typed the clients account # into my fluther post!! I really need to pay better attention, ha ha!

@Knot….Hopefully you are getting paid time and 1/2….?

Hey I am in the same boat, but I have work to do haha, however it’s not stopping me from doing this every couple of minutes….im a jeeeeerk :-P

It could be worse. You could be at home patching ceiling popcorn and trying to get the dratted stuff to match the old dratted stuff so you don’t have to paint the whole dratted ceiling (which is what I’m doing).

Or not have a job!

@andrew and shadling: New Years Day is a federal holiday. A lot of people have off, stores closed, no mail delivery, etc.

@Knot: They shouldn’t be making you work on New Years anyway. Fluther away, and don’t feel guilty. (But don’t get caught slacking off either.)

I like working on public holidays – great way to calmly get ahead in emails, paperwork, etc., tidy and clean your desk and earn a day in lieu :)
I say hooray!

Hooray for Fluthering on the clock!

Horray. For God’s sake, if there is nothing else to do, then Fluther!
