Anyone know the origin of a goodwill wish "Blue skies and green lights?

A friend said that to me today, saying her deceased dad used to say it. A few variations came up on Google but no origin.

Apparently there are a number of references associated with either disc jockeys or late night tv guys. Heres one about Jack Jones:

It has also been attributed to Drag Racers who appreciate good weather (blue skies) and stomping on the gas at “go” (Green Lights”).
