Has anyone taken Movicol - Macrogol before?

I’ve taken this and it’s bigger brother Clean Prep (same active ingredient, bigger dose) and never had any sides effects other than what you might expect.

I took 1 satchet in the evening before bed and er… went in the morning. I would avoid taking it for more than a couple of days at a time and obviously increase the amount of fiber and fluid your diet as well.

The only thing to remember is to stir the stuff until it goes clear before you take it. Some people may find it makes them feel a bit sick but it shouldn’t cause any other side effects.

I have been taking this for about a year, just a half-sachet a day, and found it excellent but in the last few days I have had itching around my ankles that has kept me awake and also some swelling of the ankles.

It didn’t agree with me… I’m now on Alverine Citrate and Senna which seems to be helping much more..without any nasty side effects!
