Jack-in-the-Box monster taco, still available?

Asked by dgalambos (7points) January 2nd, 2009

I went to Jack-in-the-Box a couple days ago specifically to get a monster taco. After waiting behind 7 other cars I finally got to the order window and was informed that they didn’t have any. Unfortunately I was now trapped in the line and had to continue on through. I don’t mind waiting in line a half hour if I get what I want, but in order to buy nothing was really a waste of time! As I finally passed the window, the employee said he thought that the monster taco had been discontinued. Jack-in-the-Box website still lists them, but I wonder how often they update that. Anyone know?

I don’t live near a jack-in-the-box but I have been there once (I have been to many fast food joints traveling. If there were one in Boston, I’d tell you but good luck is all I can say.

WOW i remember that taco! haven’t had jack in the box taco since the 1970s. the chain left chicago and went west. believe if i went to LA, it would be the first place i’d go.

that makes me wish I lived close to one. Nearest one I know of is 125 miles away.

I’m going to follow the trend, and answer the question even though I don’t have an answer. I’ve never been to a Jack-in-the-box either.

It might depend on where you are… I’ve found that there are certain things I can’t get in New York that I can in St. Louis.

I’m in CA and I think they still do a monster taco, I always order the two tacos for $1. So good and the egg rolls.

I went to Jack in the Box today to get lunch for myself and my family. My Mom’s favorite thing there is the Monster Taco, and when I ordered it, they said it was discontinued. Both my mom and I are really sad. First the Philly Cheese Steak (which wasn’t really around that long to begin with), then the Apple Turnover, and now the Monster Taco. I’ve been going to Jack in the box for the past 16 years, and my mom has been since the 70’s. I am just really sad to add another one of my favorite foods to the list. I live in Arizona by the way.

It must be something optional for them. I am still getting monster tacos at some locations but have been advised at others that they have discontinued them.

I went to my local Jack in the box last night and they told me the Monster Taco had been removed from the menu :(
