What do you think of the LG Dare?

Asked by Bowman4864 (13points) January 5th, 2009

I’m in the market for a new phone and I was seriously considering the LG Dare. It seems to be a pretty cool phone and i feel like I wouldn’t get sick of it after a month. Any dissatisfied LG Dare owners out there?

I haven’t used an LG Dare, but I have an LG Vu (AT&T), which is pretty similar. I absolutely LOVE my phone. I’ve had it for about 3 months, and can’t imagine not having a touch screen phone or something with similar technology again. Obviously you’re not an AT&T customer since the Dare is not offered with that company, but there should be some type of trial period in which you can exchange the phone if you don’t like it (AT&T has a 30 day period in which you can do this and trade for any other phone with whatever $ difference there is). Perhaps your company has something similar so that you can purchase the Dare, but then trade it in if it doesn’t live up to your expectations?

I just got one for Christmas and I really like it. The keyboard is a little hard to use but it’s good.

@judochop: personally, comparing the pros and cons of the iphone versus any other touch screen out there today.. I would not get an iphone. My vu can do everything an iphone does, at a 1/3 of the cost, and it’s more compact. I even know people who have iphones who now say they wish they had waited because they would have purchased other touch screens, like the vu or the dare.

I hear that the keyboard is really small, how big are your thumbs “Comedian”?

Comedian's avatar

@bowman: well honestly I have really tiny hands so it is easier for me.

@comedian: Yeah thats the only reason im having doubts about the Dare becase my thumbs arent small at all!

@bowman: It helps to have nails also (which I don’t). But it still is a good phone

@comedian: Alright, i think im just gonna try it out for the 30 days and see if i don’t get used to the keyboard. The way i look at it is that it takes a while to get used to any keyboard so if after 30 days im not used to it i might go for the pearl or something. Do you know if the keyboard is any smaller than the vertical keyboard on the iPod touch?

I’ve never actually used an iPod touch or seen the keyboard so I don’t know. Sorry.
