On facebook, what is the difference between "status updates" and "top stories".

They seem to duplicate each other.

Status updates are just stuff like “Joe is eating a pie” whereas top storeys can have that and stuff like “Joe has posted 1 new picture” or “Joe has commented on tom’s wall”
