What do they mean by "address label"?

Asked by wookielove (176points) January 14th, 2009

I’m buying a few things online, and after filling out all my address information there’s a line asking me for my “address label”. What exactly IS an address label?

Maybe it’s a space for you to affix those address labels you can buy. Not sure why it would be on an online form, since there’s no real way for you to do that, but I can imagine the field being brought over from their physical catalog order form by someone who was told to migrate the form, not someone familiar with the form who would know to take that field out.

It could also be asking for specific information found on the address label on a physical catalog. They often have key codes or customer numbers on them.
