Has anyone's life been significantly altered because of a manifesto?

Asked by BronxLens (1539points) January 15th, 2009

Is there a manifesto that you can identify as being a source of a significant change in your life?

I read the ones posted in ChangeThis and others like Bruce Mao’s Incomplete Manifesto for Growth and wonder if the ideas in them became de facto change agents for anyone.

Other examples of manifestos might include the Magna Carta, Droits de l’Homme, Declaration of Independence and other such documents.

Although I suppose it could be argued that since these predate most of us, that they probably impacted our lives rather than changing them.

The Communist Manifesto.

I won a scavenger hunt because I found a copy of the Communist Manifesto. That event set into action a course of events that now has me applying for a job, so I’d call that relatively significant. I know that’s not quite what you were going for, but yeah…
