What are some fun things to do in Vancouver and Victoria?

I am planning a 5 day trip and will spend most of my time in Vancouver, but will probably also go to Victoria for a night or two. I want to check out the bike culture, and other fun, hip stuff that is less touristy. I will have a bike to use while I am there. Any cool dive bars I should know about? Would love to hear from someone who lives/lived in either place!
