The Grand Canyon

I haven’t been there, but there is a remote village in the Amazon basin of Peru called Tres Cruces, where a famous sunrise phenomenon takes place. At around the time of the Winter equinox (June 21st), the angle of the sun combined with the extreme humidity of the air above the rainforest produces a strange optical effect, making the sun appear to dance and waver, sometimes even forming double images.

Tre Cruces is a major pain to get to, and there’s not much other reason to go there, but many make the trip just for this rare spectacle.

Well, just in case Harp doesn’t have the answer (but I’m pretty sure that’s it), I’d say on the Charles Bridge in Prague. It’s absolutely stunning to see all that old architecture at night, light up by the early sun. It’s also great to see the statues as the sun first hits them. It is positively magical.

Sunrise Earth on Discovery HD and Animal Planet. Awesome documentary series!

Anywhere as long as it’s shared with someone. I am partial to West Texas sunrises and sunsets though.

I would go with Grand Canyon. I went a few years back and the sunset there was amazing. Kansas actually has some really beautiful sunsets also.

The beach near Crescent Head, NSW, Australia. That’s the most beautiful place I’ve seen it thus far.

Anywhere with a lot of pollution. It makes the sky cool colors.

to me, any sunrise that you can actually see it.. is worth it

whether it be a landscape or not.

Personally i prefer sunsets though because more pollutants in the air making the sky more red.. in general it’s just better looking to me lighting wise, morning is to cold and blue for me most the time
