Maybe. Smell it. I usually throw it out, but it might be ok.

But, if you’re talking about the sell by date, then yes, it’s still good.

In my experience, generally not. I call the date on the bottle the ‘sour by date’. It’s pretty accurate.

I usually smell it. It is after all a sell date, but fresher milk is always better.
Soured milk is just another dairy product anywho!

Sniff it, but a lot depends on your fridge and how you keep it. Did you leave it without a cap? Is your fridge colder than most? Mine usually is very cold, on the lowest setting. Typically our milk lasts an extra day or two.

it depends on the temp in your fridge, where you keep it, and when you opened it…smell it to see

A hint. Don’t combine your old milk with your new. Learned that the hard way. :o)

If your fridge is really cold it’s good for a few more days. I still smell it though just to make sure.

Depends. Give it a whiff to be sure.

In NYC, there’s two expiration dates on milk and related products: one for outside the city and one for the city itself. The one outside is two days later than NYC’s.

@aprilsimnel I understand things age faster in NYC. I think it’s the stress. :o)

@Grisson – It can be very stressful for a container of milk to sit at the bodega with the 30 year old cooler for 4 days. No one’s going to race in to buy it at $5 a gallon!

I always go by the NYC date, even though I live in the slightly more relaxed NJ.

@petethepothead – Slightly relaxed, yes. With better, modern refrigeration systems, more like!

i’ve used milk up to a week after the exp date but after that it may be a death wish

The date on the container is the Sell By date…not the spoil date. It should be good for at least a week after the sell by date.
Be sure you are storing it propertly, thought. Suggested—between 34° F and 38° F.

Another tip to lengthen life span is not to put it on inside of door of refrigerator but near the back wall, where it is colder.
