Have you ever wondered why ...

… people say “Watch your eyes” when they turn on a light in a dark room? Wouldn’t that be difficult to do?

Same could be said for “Watch your head”, I guess. I suppose the Brits got it right with “mind” instead of “watch”.

@Harp I always liked the idea of ‘Max Headroom’.

At my job we say, “you should have been paying attention, dumb ass.”

“Stupid” and “re re” are also acceptable substitutions for “dumb ass.”

No, I’ve never wondered why. That’s because the sentence’s meaning is very apparent to me and many others. “Watch your eyes” doesn’t mean literally watch your eyes, it means “pay attention to your eyes to avoid a sudden shock”. You’d be amazed how many words have multiple meanings. That’s why I love looking words up in dictionaries.

I like it when they scream and yell, “Who the hell are you?!?”, when I flip on the lights.

@Blondesjon Followed by “Ooops wrong house”? or “Would you mind telling me where you keep the jewelry?”? :o)

@Grisson,...“Hey remember me? I used to sit behind you in homeroom…Why are you crying?”

@Blondesjon i just run in and yell ”Look!” and flash my junk. then no one cares about the lights. often awkward at church functions and senior centers, although the seniors tend to enjoy it more than the churchfolk.

Is this like one of those:

@Daethian No, it’s more like having a braille keypad at the drive-thru ATM.
