Pulled an all nighter, and now my legs are extremely sore?

Asked by XCNuse (1197points) February 3rd, 2009

So i stayed up all night last night being productive and all, anyways my legs were really tired around 10 or so that night, and after a while i didn’t pay any attention to them.
I got in my bed at 7:30 this morning (didn’t actually fall asleep till 9 till 10) anyways, me legs HURT.. BAAAD!

They are extremely sore and it feels like i worked out, why are they in so much pain, anyone have an idea?

Where did you sit or lie?

My back hurts after sitting up all night.

Bring in the same position does put strain on your body. Especially if you’re putting your weight on said body part.

While you sleep your body repairs small rips and strains in the muscle tissue that happens from daily activities. That’s why if you do not sleep your muscles become sore and painful. Also it could just be someway you were sleeping. After a good nights sleep and some relaxation you should be fine. If it hurts that bad you could take some type of pain killer/anti inflamatory or ice/heat pads.

Eat a banana. If you were pulling an all-nighter, you may have not been eating well during the past few days. Sometimes legs can hurt because of a lack of potassium. Bananas, having lots of potassium, thus often help with leg pains.

I feel your pain. Mine is due to circulation issues. If I wear something that constricts my legs, I don’t get the pain (like tights with support in them.) If I’m doing a mega cleaning before a party, I have to make sure I wear shoes with good arch support and leg support. Otherwise, I can barely walk the next day.

This exact same thing happens to me. My legs ache like crazy when I don’t get enough sleep. Take 3 or 4 motrin and wait for it to pass.

Try some good food and physical activity. Jumping up and down seems to help me when my legs / arm / other appendage falls asleep / get sore. I would also try massaging your legs to help blood flow.

Have you had it looked at by a doctor? Its been two days, something is wrong. You NEED to get that looked at.

Two days of bad leg pain is not something to fuck around with. You could have a blood clot that’s causing the pain. Go get it checked out, ASAP.

no i’m better now, they don’t hurt.. at all really, just a little touch of pain but for the most part it’s all gone, i still don’t have the slightest clue what caused all that,,,

I had the same thing happen to me after pulling an all nighter to cram for my exam…woke up the next morning with extremely sore legs, as if I had done an intense workout the night before…hopefully after getting some rest they’ll be back to normal
