Have you ever dated someone famous? What was it like?

Do you count a guy who was running for big state-level government office at the time to be famous?

No, but people have dated me, and it must have been thrilling for them. <wink>

Well, we didn’t date for very long, but I will say that I voted for him. ;)

There really isn’t much of a story, though. It’s not like flocks of teenagers recognized him or anything. The neatest, noteworthy thing was being able to pull up his party’s website and point at the picture and say “Yep. Did that!”

I went out with Renée Richards when he was still Richard Raskind and captain of the Yale tennis team (and then my Opthamologist). It was all very odd.

I’ve never dated someone famous but I keep dating really really smart guys who I’m sure will become famous in their fields. When Jeremy Betz becomes a famous engineer, just remember that I was his first kiss!

For the record, Dick was/is 6’2” and had a profile that engendered his then nickname of “The Chief.” I stopped dating him during college because he was too sexually agressive for timid and inexperienced 1956 me. But he was a very good eye doctor and did surgery on my little sister’s roving eye. The back story is too complicated and weird to get into here.

I also went out with Steve Reich, the contemporary musician, while we were in high school. He played the drums and no one could have guessed what he would become.

The guy from Radio Active and Breaker High thought he was dating my sister, but he was an egotistical moron and thought he was dating everyone. They were not nating, according to my sister.

One of my best friends in high school dated Gordon Gano for 3 months, but that was years ago. I have never dated anyone famous, though I’ve been hit on by a few famous folk and scoped out by a few more. I didn’t bother with the ones who hit on me because I didn’t find them at all attractive, and with one, I didn’t play on her team. :/

Some how, her table was inexplixably next to mine, and she said, “do you come here often?” In a quick remark, I said “just for for the music”. That evidently turned a membrane about her mind set, so, she offered me another drink. I declined. Had to catch my bus back home. Nice meeting you, have a good one. etc.
So, I,m at 5th. and Nicolett downtown Minneapolis, waiting for my bus, and “she” bounces along. “Can I give you aq lift?”
Well, shit, what can I say? Sure!!
The limo shows up, we’re on the way to beautiful downtown Fridley and with the on-board Brandy VSOP, it becomes a difficult situation indeed!! I invite her in, my humble aboad. She accepts!! shit!! Winny Ryder is a sweet lay!! Indeed!!

I dated the sister of Miss Michigan 1995 (who went on to become a Hawaiian Tropic girl), although I never met Miss Michigan 1995. Her sister (the girl I dated) was quite beautiful as well and a lot smarter, I believe.

I went out with a hideously famous art critic who was 65 when I was 25 but I ran away very fast when I realized he wasn’t feeling fatherly.
