I’ve noticed a higher amount of answers during the evenings.

Then again, really great questions can be posted at any time and will be found and discussed.

If it’s a question that can be quickly answered, ask it just before noon EST. Lots of flutherers check in at lunchtime, but the exchanges need to be not too time consuming.

For longer, more thoughtful responses, ask late afternoon or early evening. That’ll catch people when they’re under less time pressure. For silly, loopy, playful stuff, ask late at night when all us fuddy-duddies have sought the refuge of our comfy beds.

I work evening hours from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and I spend a decent part of that time checking into Fluther during my work shift. I’ve seen a lot of good questions asked in the middle to late evening and even the early mornings on several occasions.

I sleep during the day so I’m not too sure about the frequency of the questions then. I do know that after I wake up in the afternoon, I have all kinds of new messages in my “Activity for You” box. What that indicates to me is that people are waking up and crafting responses to several questions that were asked the night before.

I’m probably a bit weird this way, but I typically check Fluther in the early morning (5:00–6:30) on weekdays and constantly on weekends.

I think it’s more the quality of a question rather than the time it is posted that will get the most responses.

I’m with scamp, the well thought-out questions will get the most responses.

In theory.

Most days, I check all day long.

The only time I’ll never be here is between about 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Most any time of day I see a lot of activity, with answers in some questions popping faster than you can type your own. Evening seems to be the hottest, even pushing midnight PST (what are you East Coast guys doing up so late night after night?).

I don’t know @whackyrusty. I’d like to think that I ask well thought-out questions, but mine don’t seem to get that many answers. In my opinion, the questions that get the most answers are either kind of light, are about traditional relationship problems, or are on hot-button social issues. Although, I have to agree that time of day doesn’t really matter.

Just at the end of the day, when you can remember what you actally wanted to ask about. Timing doesn’t really matter, more state of mind than anything.
