How can I automatically change the time zone on my Mac?

Asked by anthonymobile (2points) February 9th, 2009

I hate having to manually change my time zone when I arrive in my city. Every other app knows where I am and adjusts automatically.

The claim that every other app does this is odd.

But you could probably do this with applescript.

1. grab your IP address
2. use some kind of geolocation service to grab your location (Perl?)
3. set your timezone with applescript.
4. use cron to run it every hour.

That doesn’t help. But it is doable. But it would be a total pain in the ass.
