What is your maximum heart rate?

Asked by robmandu (21331points) February 10th, 2009

See Wikipedia to learn more about your HRmax.

I recently got a hr monitor and have been obsessing about this a bit. Note that those calcs that are simply based on age can be a bit off.

Oh yah, during the home stretch of my run this morning, I hit 194 – I like to burn it out right at the end.

Anyways, I was slightly surprised since the age-based calcs had placed me in the lower 180’s.

I have personally been clocked at 211. (I periodically get some pretty intense heart arrythmia attacks!)

it is supposed to be 205-your age,

that is your target max, but anyone who exercises should be able to beat that
