Truth or Myth: Your hangover will be gone if you exercise?

Asked by May2689 (1291points) February 12th, 2009

I think at some point in our lives we’ve all heard about it, but is it really true? Are our days of mortal hangovers gone for good?

Myth. It may help a little, but only time ends it. Plus you will feel lousy while doing it.

i find it very hard for me to even move when having a hangover…and you want me to exercise? MADNESS

I would think water and solid food would be the best choice. I don’t think if you were truely hungover you could work out.

It helps me but certainly doesn’t make it go away. Swimming is nice, especially in the ocean.

I’ve never heard of working out as a way to cure a hangover. I would think that would make you more nauseous. If i’m hungover i’m not doing anything but sleeping.

you can run off that hangover only if you have the strength and drive in the morning to do it. your body says, “hell naw!” but if you press your way and think mind over matter, a good morning jog or run will exhume the toxins.

once you get back home from the run, enjoy the “good dump” of all the other %$^& you ate and drank. running and exercise encourages expulsion.

I am a morning jogger. I jog two or three times a week… then I heard this and I thought it might be a good idea to combine these two.
I think Im gonna do it!!! nothing too extreme tough, I dont wanna pass out

When I was doing landscaping and would go to work hungover, it would be gone within a few hours every time. When I just lay around at home, they seem to last all day. Works for me!

@KrystaElyse – I love the third reason not to do it – “general ickiness”. The first two are all serious and scientific, and then we come to “general ickiness”. That cracked me up! GA!

@La_chica_gomela – Haha, yeah that was pretty funny :D

It is a myth that exercising will make a hangover disappear faster. Sorry.
