Blackberry Bold or iPhone?

Asked by essieness (7698points) February 17th, 2009

Here’s the deal: I used to work for an authorized retailer for AT&T Wireless. As an employee, I got a discounted rate plan ($20/month for unlimited everything). I have since left the company, but am still on that rate plan wink. iPhones are not allowed on said plans because authorized retailers do not sell iPhones. I’m eligible for an upgrade and I want an iPhone, but I’ll have to switch to a regular plan which is going to cost me a minimum of $60/month. If I get a Blackberry Bold, I can keep my $20 plan. Advice?

Go for the long-term savings, but then I’m some % Scottish.

Blackberry Bold.

I think the iPhone is totally worth the added cost. My bills went up a fair amount to get the iPhone (to add a hefty data plan) but I haven’t regretted it at all so far. YMMV

You’ll pay nearly the same each month for the Bold. Go for the better user experience.

[edit] did not read that bit about the plans. Tough call. I’d still go for the iPhone.

iPhone.

I must warn, though, that once you’re in, there’s no going back. Every other user interface just seems dumb. A friend has both – he specifically wanted to compare them – and while the Bold is definitely a step in the right direction, it’s no iPhone, according to him.
