There are no truly blue foods. I learned that from Top Chef

If you don’t count blueberries, then you can’t count “blue” corn, because it is also purplish.

Blue potatoes

Blue coloured fruits include blue grapes, blue plums, and chokecherries.

Cookie Monster cupcakes. They are naturally blue. Because obviously they can’t be the Cookie Monster if they aren’t blue.

the mountain huckleberries are also blue, but would be considered like blueberries I guess, purplish. On the outside they look very blue.

One kid in elementary school was allergic to blue. I’m not even kidding. He couldn’t eat or ingest anything blue.

Weirdly, when red cabbage is cooked it turns blue.

Smurfs are a blue food but that only counts if you are Gargamel or Azrael.

I don’t know specifically about blue food, but I do know that there is no such thing as a blue bird. Birds that have feathers that look blue show that color because their feathers are prisms that break the blue light out of the white light and reflect it. However, if their feathers get wet they no longer look blue. The water interferes with the prismatic mechanism. If the feathers really were blue they would still be blue when they get wet. Instead they look black or brown.

Define “foods”. Anything can be food with a little bit of effort.

And almost any food can be made blue

I think some jellyfish are edible and appear bluish in water, as well as some blue fish, and yorkies that have black and silver hair together are called blue and are probably edible.

And some people argue that blue cheese is really green or turquoise instead of blue (just like they argue about blueberries actually being purple).

If blueberries are purple, then blue cheese is green.

@darwin – okay, maybe some blue cheese is green, but most blue cheese has striations of blue. i have never seen turquoise blue cheese, and i have no idea what you’re talking about.

I didn’t say I think blue cheese is green (or blueberries are purple). I said some people argue that is the case.

@Darwin Chinese people do not eat canine…..Korean people do. Not kidding. My Uncle was stationed in Korea back in 1970 and got married while there. When he and his new wife (my aunty Lee) came home, she was excited to see how plentiful my grandparents land was with dog. AKA my father, and his five brother and sisters pets. LOL. Is eating your new in laws animals a faux pas?
