Who did you get your laugh from?

Asked by Blondesjon (33994points) February 17th, 2009 from iPhone

I only got two things from my father that I will acknowledge; my love for the Green Bay Packers and my laugh.

Where’d ya get yours?

No idea. I don’t laugh like my mom or dad.

My Mama. My voice and laugh are so much like my Mom’s and my sister’s. People would often confuse us all when talking on the phone.

Definitely my mom. Some people think we even sound alike on the phone.

@jmah – Haha, same here.

I don’t know about my laugh. But if you heard him talking about my test scores, you would agree that my chemistry teacher got his laugh from Satan.

My laugh(s) manifested through my own weirdness I think mostly. The most infamous is my “cackle.” My mother doesn’t cackle, my father surely didn’t cackle. Then there’s the silent laugh where I start to cry, don’t know where that came from either. Then there’s my wheezy laugh where it sounds like I smoke 3 packs a day. Maybe that I acquired from my mom. Haha, oh geez.

Also from my Dad. We had similar voices too.

My laugh sounds like my mom’s laugh. But my ability to laugh and not hold back, all learned from my dad!

I think from my mom. I’m like her in a lot of ways so I wouldn’t be surprised if we laugh alike, too.

My laugh comes from my mom and my brothers seem to laugh more like my father used to. I wonder why it happened that way.

I don’t know. I was adopted. (snif!)

@loser Adopted by a family of jellies! ((hugs))

@loser…I was too but I still picked up a laugh like his. Guess it’s time for another nature vs. nurture thread…

Myself. I carry my own gene.

Ariel, (this little mermaid) traded it to me so she could get some legs. I took all of her voice, however.

Both of my sisters and I have the exact same obnoxious laugh. I don’t know that we got it from our parents because neither of them laugh like us.

I had a Scottish father and an Irish mother, that’s worth a laugh…
Now I live in Australia, have a New Zealand wife, two Australian sons, one now a Muslim, and a beautiful daughter in law from West Java…
And a cat called Miro…
I should laugh more, shouldn’t we all be laughing more, let’s go for it now…
The big Fluther laugh in session, on your marks get set, GO…

I got my wacky sense of humor from my Dad, and my receding hairline from my Mom. My laugh is genuinely my own, cultured over many years, and borrowed from the likes of mad scientists from all those old B grade movies.
