If guys have a POSSLQ, then sitting accomplishes two things. You never leave the seat up, and it lets her know you didn’t spatter on the floor.

Both. If I wake-up in the middle of the night, or first thing in the morning while still tired and out of it, I sit so I wont fall over or completely miss. The rest of the time I stand.

I was drunk and sat on a urinal once.

I’m not a man but if every man sat, the women of the world would be a lot happier. My boyfriend has perfect aim and always puts the seat back down, but that is a rarity…

Holy moley. I don’t know that I’ve ever sat to do #1 unless I couldn’t stand for some reason. I would rather clean up splatter then pee sitting down. I won’t alter the way I urinate to please anyone. The seat comes up for a reason.

Unless you have a prince albert piercing gone wrong and you pee out the side of your penis, then there’s no reason to sit.

I’m not a woman, but if every woman of the world would lift the toilet seat back up after they do their business, the men of the world would be a lot happier.

I’m thinking that guys who actually do some of the toilet cleaning and pay attention to what they find are going to be among those who sit. Even a well-aimed stream generates a fair bit of splatter.

I always stand but at home, my wife prefers that I sit because she is under the mistaken impression that my aim isn’t that good and that I miss the toilet bowl too often. Fortunately for me, my aim is much better than she perceives and I score a direct hit in the porcelain throne 99.5 % of the time so I stand up at home to do #1, irregardless.

My partner sits. I was a bit surprised at first, as I had assumed most men stand. He told me that he doesn’t appreciate making a mess as sitting avoids splashback, and is more comfortable for him.

I stand all the time… I do toilet cleaning and unless I’m going number 2 there is no way I can pee sitting down..

i always stand when at a public place, but from time to time, i sit (at home only) because,
1. i don’t want the sound to wake up the kids or wife
2. night vision is great, but standing up could cause splashing and misguided streams—wife hates that.

Stand. Put the seat and the lid down when you’re done, boys & girls.

Wow, I am actually pretty shocked at the number of guys that sit for #1. I stand. Also I agree with @kevbo everyone should put both the lid and the seat down when finished – it seems less gross in general and more gender neutral.

this is hilarious hearing this from guys because theirs only 1 way a girl can use “it”
