What should I do about my dog's broken foot?

Winston,( see my avatar), had an accident while chasing after a mockingbird. I took him to the vet. He has broken his right hind foot and has a torn ligament. He needs very very expensive orthepedic surgery which I can’t afford . I love him so dearly. What should I or could I do?
