What is your favorite cereal?

Asked by TenaciousDenny (1149points) February 23rd, 2009

National Pancake Day got me in a breakfast state of mind, so I figured I’d keep the ball rolling. Go down any cereal aisle in the grocery store and there literally probably more than 100 delicious options to choose from. I know asking to choose just one is a lot to ask for, so if you want to give your top 3 (or top 5, top 10, top 25), by all means, be my guest. I’ll break my answers down between sugar and non-sugar cereal, as it’s hard to compare something like Fruit Loops to Cheerios.

Top 3 Sugar Cereals
1. Cinnamon Toast Crunch
2. Fruit Loops
3. Apple Jacks

Non-sugar cereal
1. Corn Chex
2. Rice Krispies
3. Cheerios

Once again, this was hard to do because there are sooooo many good options out there, and with proper persuasion, there are many more that could legitimately be in my top 3.

I don’t eat sugary cereals, so:

1) Chex
2) Product 19
3) Cheerios

i miss Cereality, the cereal restaurant. Mix together whatever you want with whatever toppings you want. So good. stupid economy

@emt333 Not to be a stickler (ok, I’m totally being a stickler) here, but usually cereals with “Frosted” and “Honey” in their titles don’t end up on my non sugar list.

I could live off of cereal if I had too.

Coffee and beer would also need to be included though

@TenaciousDenny: Gotta love drinking some pink milk at the end of them pebbles.

TenaciousDenny's avatar

@TitsMcGhee I can’t even begin to imagine how much pink milk I downed after eating overflowing bowls of Fruity Pebbles at the dining halls in college.

TitsMcGhee's avatar

I wish they had Fruity Pebbles at my excuse for a cafeteria :(

But we do keep them well stocked in our suite kitchen. We also go through about a gallon of milk every two days :)

Too many! I love cereals from Count Chocula to Grape Nuts. I could eat it at just about every meal, if I wasn’t lactose intolerant.

Cocoa Krispies, Cocoa Puffs, Rice Krispies Treats, Chex, Kix, Corn Flakes. What I have usually depends on my mood.

TenaciousDenny's avatar

I don’t think they make them any more, and if they do they are hard to find, but Alpha-Bits were pretty tasty back in the day.

Captain Krunch.

Has anyone tried Quisp or Quake?

augustlan's avatar

@TenaciousDenny They are so hard to find! One local store had them not too long ago, and then they were gone again. I love Alpha-Bits. sigh

jonsblond's avatar

@TenaciousDenny I’ve got some Alpha-Bits on top of my frizzer. Guess you need to come to Illinois to find them. I believe I got it at Wal-Mart. The top of my fridge looks like Seinfeld’s cupboard! :D

TenaciousDenny's avatar

@jonsblond I suppose I’ll have to check my local Wal-Mart. Thanks for the tip!
