Is it okay to dry-clean clothes that do not require it?

Asked by tinyfaery (44085points) February 23rd, 2009

I have a pair of nice pants that don’t specify the need for dry-cleaning. Is it okay to dry-clean them? I’m nervous about washing them because I have other clothes of similar fabric and quality and they do require dry-cleaning. It won’t ruin the pants, will it? Plus, I don’t trust the gentle cycle at my local laundromat.
