Where can I find smoother Velcro strips?

Asked by HeNkiSdaBro (392points) February 25th, 2009

I ran into really smooth velcro strips that still had great strength. They looked similar to the normal velcro strips but where smoother and more silent. Where can I find these and what is the name of these?

I don’t know about the specific product that you’re talking about, but I can tell you that craft stores usually have a large selection of velcro.

Are you talking about this stuff, which doesn’t have a “loop” side and a “hook” side, but is just covered with tiny bumps? If so, it’s called “Low-profile Dual-lock”, made by 3M (the makers of Velcro). You can buy it here, among other places. Just Google the name and you’ll find lots of sellers.

Why Vercro?

Thanks for your help. I actually found the exact one; got the info from the product maker I ran into. It is a Velcro product indeed and is called Ultra-Mate. It is probably similar to the one Harp mentioned, but glad I found it. Hope it can be found in Europe!
